How to get rid of cellulite. No matter how thin or bronzed we are, these cellulitides seem to appear in the most horrible places and I have to say that our thighs and buttocks are the most common places for them to form.
True, cellulite is not pretty and it is very difficult to get rid of it. But where there is a will, there is a way. I should add that if you are genetically predisposed to cellulite (take a look at your mother’s legs), it may be more difficult to make them disappear.
But don’t worry, today by reading the article that I posted for you, you will learn how you can reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Before we get to the solutions, let’s talk for a quick minute about what causes and how to get cellulite.
What is cellulite?
I have to say that it is true that cellulite sometimes makes people feel embarrassed and uncomfortable wearing revealing clothes, but cellulite is literally just a bulge of fat through your connective tissue, which creates a bulge or dimple on your skin. 100% of it is impossible, but I will teach you how to hide it.
At first, I didn’t know that there are actually different degrees of cellulite. But I must say that it is and these degrees can help you understand the severity of your situation. The different types of cellulite are:
Grade 1: Cellulite that is not visible even when you squeeze your skin.
Grade 2: Cellulite is not visible when lying down or standing. If you peel your skin, you will see an “orange peel texture”.
Grade 3: You have visible cellulite when standing, but it disappears when lying down.
Grade 4: Cellulite is visible when standing or lying down.
Which grade do you belong to? If you’re embarrassed to say it, remember you’re not alone. Over 90% of women will experience cellulite in their lifetime, which means you’ll be hard-pressed to find a friend who doesn’t have cellulite.
What causes cellulite?
People almost always associate cellulite with being overweight, but this is not the only cause of cellulite. Thin people can also get cellulite. Cellulite is mainly due to genetics and mostly due to unhealthy lifestyle habits.
Cellulite can affect anyone, male or female, although women are more prone to it due to more weight on the hips, sides, and thighs.
Genetics
If you want to know if genetic factors play a role in your cellulitis, look at the older men or women in your family. Naturally, you probably haven’t noticed cellulite on your male counterparts because they usually wear pants. But if you’ve ever been in a pool with your mother, aunt, or grandmother, you’ve probably noticed that they suffer from cellulite.
According to Fitness Magazine, “Genetics definitely play a role, both in the likelihood that your body will store fat and the amount of tissue influence on fat.”
The good news is that your genes play a small role in the development of cellulite. Sometimes having an unhealthy lifestyle in terms of weight management can be a bigger root of this problem.
And on an unfortunate note, your gender may also have something to do with your cellulite development. Most women deal with cellulite more than men due to the tendency to carry more fat in their hips, thighs, and sides.
The impact of an unhealthy lifestyle
Genetics aside, the main thing to analyze when dealing with cellulite is your lifestyle. Are you active or inactive? Do you tend to overeat? Do you smoke or drink too much? Are you keeping yourself hydrated enough? All these factors can contribute to the development of cellulite.
The good news is that you can keep cellulite at bay through some simple lifestyle changes that I’ll explain below. Removing bad foods from your diet and doing some moderate exercise a day will help you a lot.
Fitness Magazine notes this simple fact: “If you keep your body in shape, you’re likely to have less body fat and more muscle, which means you’ll develop less cellulite.”
How to hide cellulite?
Whether you are genetically predisposed to cellulite or not, there are ways to reduce the appearance of cellulite now.
massage
Can’t complain about that offer, right? The good news is that massage will help increase blood circulation and tighten your skin. Its effects will only last a few days, so if you are invited somewhere where you want to wear short and naked clothes, it is better to do your massage a day or two before.
You will find different suggestions about which type of massage is best. Whether you choose cupping massage or manual lymphatic massage (MLD), you will reduce the appearance of cellulite in the short term.
Darken your skin (tan)
Are you a fair-skinned woman? If so, cellulite can look worse on your skin. Dark skin hides cellulite a little better, which is why I suggest using a bronzer to reduce its appearance.
And it is better to use a good tanner.
Drink plenty of water
You know that water is essential for a healthy life, but do you really know the effects of dehydration? If you don’t get enough H20, you will experience headaches, constipation, dizziness, low blood pressure, fast heart rate and even fainting.
In the case of cellulite, water consumption is also very important. Dehydration can cause “wrinkled and dry skin that loses elasticity and does not return to normal when wrinkled.” Daily consumption of the recommended amount of water will make your skin properly hydrated, elastic, and shiny.
Try firming creams
Firming creams actually have a temporary effect on cellulite. So although they won’t eliminate your cellulite, they can make it disappear for a while. They contain silicone that helps fill in the hollows of your skin, making it look smoother, and helps tighten the skin underneath. I will give you the link to a good cream that I used myself.
Focus on lower body exercises
As you all know, muscles usually look better than fat. Strengthening the muscles in areas that are prone to cellulite can do wonders to reduce the appearance of cellulite. The muscle is firmer and takes up less space in your body, thus sucking your skin back and eliminating the dreaded cellulite lumps.
The best thing about lower body exercise is that you can do so many movements without full equipment.
The best exercises for the lower body are squats and lunges. To squat, spread your feet hip-width apart. When squatting, tuck your hips back as far as possible so that your knees don’t go past your ankles. Repeat this movement 12-15 times, rest, and then repeat 2-3 rounds.
Anything that targets your hips, sides, and thighs will be helpful. If you are new to exercise, a simple walk can be a great starting point.
healthy diet
There are some general rules regarding diet cleansing for cellulite:
Eliminate sugar and processed foods
Minimize your carbohydrate intake
Use a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables
Another thing to pay attention to when it comes to cellulite is the consumption of salt. Sodium can cause fluid retention and make your cellulite look worse. Try to avoid foods that have more than 200 mg of sodium. Also, enough water can have positive effects.

Eat flax seeds
Flax seeds are an amazing source of protein and fiber, and I recently discovered that they are great for our skin too!
“Flaxseed supports estrogen levels and increases collagen growth. Collagen is a major component of connective tissue. By strengthening the skin, it helps reduce the appearance of cellulite.”
The best thing about flaxseed is that you can add it to a variety of foods and not even notice the taste. Add 2 tablespoons to breakfast smoothies, oatmeal, or yogurt. You can also add it to baked goods such as cookies and bread.
dry brushing
Dry brushing is a new method that I haven’t tried myself yet, but I’ve heard amazing things about it. For those who don’t know, dry brushing is a combination of exfoliation and massage using a dry brush.
When brushing dry, the bristles help exfoliate your skin while the circular brushing motion helps stimulate lymphatic drainage, which is also known to remove toxins from the tissues.
Dry brushing is said to create smooth and even skin and help increase blood circulation. People who have tried it have found great results and claim that it immediately hides cellulite on the upper thighs.
